Leslie Salinero serves as publications coordinator in the Office of Institutional Advancement at Delgado Community College. Leslie is responsible for managing the production of a variety of marketing collateral and maintaining professional branding standards for the College. She is skilled in writing, editing, graphic design and project management. She also assists with social media, public relations and outreach events at the College.
Leslie also co-hosts “Delgado Pride News,” an hour-long radio program airing on Delgado Community College’s official radio station, Dolphin Radio (dolphinradio.org), every Thursday at 9 a.m.
Leslie has brought innovation to Delgado by implementing a content management system for editing and publishing the College Catalog and student handbooks online. She also led the team that developed the College’s first ever editorial style guide.
Before joining Delgado, Leslie worked as community relations specialist at Stewart Enterprises, Inc. and as public relations representative at the Kenner Police Department. In both those roles, she handled the production of various publications and event planning.
Leslie holds a Master of Arts in English and Bachelor of Arts in Education from the University of New Orleans. She serves as an organist, keyboardist and vocalist at First English Lutheran Church in Metairie.

Julie is the Development Director for Homer A. Plessy Community School. Working within a school requires that she wears many different ‘hats’ throughout the day. Her primary role is fundraising and donor engagement while also managing communications for the organization through public relations, social media, website strategy, marketing and community outreach.
Prior to joining Plessy, Julie worked as a Communications/PR specialist for Junior Achievement. She was a member of a launch team creating the Trust Your Crazy Ideas Challenge, in partnership with the Brees Dream Foundation and the Idea Village.

Sarah McLaughlin, Certified Project Management Professional, is an award winning, dynamic, senior-level communications officer with strong analytical and strategic planning skills, who cultivates and nurtures strong business relationships across complex constituencies. She is Director of Communications at the City of New Orleans, Office of Mayor Mitch Landrieu.
Previously, Sarah served as Senior Vice President for OPP, where she was responsible for outreach and business development with new and existing clients. Sarah designed, secured, developed and led a multi-million dollar public affairs support contract for the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers, New Orleans District. Under her leadership, the OPP team implemented a well-coordinated community relations and stakeholder engagement program that resulted in balanced international media coverage, effective and strategic partnerships, and an improved client reputation.
In 2013, Sarah designed, secured, developed and led the post-Hurricane Sandy communications effort for the State of New Jersey Department of Community Affairs Community Development Block Grants Program. Her team successfully developed and executed a targeted communications strategy – with an emphasis on the Low to Moderate Income population – that drove more than 30,000 homeowners to apply for program participation in just 100 days.
Sarah has a Bachelor of Arts from the University of Miami, with concentrations in English Literature, Philosophy and Spanish, and a four year President’s Scholarship. She is also a graduate of Choate Rosemary Hall, a preparatory school, where she was awarded the Headmaster’s Scholarship. She was recently elected to the IABC Southern Region Leadership Development Committee.

Rick has nearly 40 years experience in marketing and communications. He currently is a professor and science writer/editor with the LSU AgCenter in Baton Rouge, where his primary responsibilities focus on reporting about research activities and results, educational programs and AgCenter events, and providing communication support through writing and consultation to various AgCenter units.
Before joining LSU in 1998, Rick was a communications specialist in the University of Illinois College of Agricultural, Consumer and Environmental Sciences for eight years. Earlier in his career, Rick held several positions in advertising and marketing communications for a variety of companies, including a manufacturing company, the agricultural division of a Fortune 50 corporation and an agricultural biotechnology start-up company. He has a degree in communications from Southern Illinois University, Carbondale and an MBA from the University of Dayton.

Tamar is the principal and co-founder of The Marketing Hub, LLC. With a background in education, entertainment, health care, non-profit and for profit organizations, Tamar’s firm provides marketing, media and public relations for clients, as well as assistance partnering up with creative and interactive freelancers.
With a passion for education and public relations, Tamar has been an adjunct faculty member at Tulane University’s School of Continuing Studies’ Journalism and Media Arts Program since January 2008. An active member of the faculty, Tamar was appointed to the Media Arts Faculty Committee in September 2009.
A student of the business, Tamar is the Vice President of Professional Development for the New Orleans chapter of the International Association of Business Communicators (IABC) and the New Orleans Press Club. A former member of the Public Relations Society of America, Tamar received an Award of Excellence for her work promoting the grand reopening of the UNO Lakefront Arena.
